"Impatience is an argument with reality" as Rick Rubin said in his latest book The Creative Act, and he couldn't be more right. Additionally, motivation is, contrary to self-development ideology, often rooted in lack and fear. For many of us it's actually an anxious energy to try and bring about some over aggrandized version of what could be with the hope that it will resolve the seeming unhappiness of the present circumstance or state of being.
