Can jewellery ever be ethical? with guest Pippa Small

Grab a cuppa and join Rosie and Izzy, who are joined by ethical jewellery designer, anthropologist, human rights activist and survival ambassador Pippa Small. As well as being an incredibly talented designer, Pippa holds an MA in Medical Anthropology, cultivating her interest in human rights amongst minorities, indigenous peoples and tribal groups through collaborations with grassroots organisations in Borneo, Thailand and India, amongst others. Pippa has won numerous awards for social responsibility, is an ambassador of the human rights organisation Survival International, and was awarded an MBE in 2013 for her ethical jewellery and charity work.

They ask:

  • Can gold ever be ethical?
  • What can we as consumers do to support a shift to a more sustainable and ethical jewellery industry?
  • What’s it like working so closely with artisans in regions of extreme conflict?
  • Working with artisans from marginalised communities, what goes into building those relationships, and how do you ensure it's a balanced partnership?
