S3E9 - Culture Meets Scripture

In this season 3 finale, we’re joined by Amy West, Senior Scripture Engagement Consultant with SIL Global and co-founder of the Culture Meets Scripture (CmS) training. Amy shares how CmS equips local believers to engage with Scripture and make meaningful decisions about their cultural practices in light of their faith.

We explore the complex questions new believers face:

  • What happens when an instrument is used in traditional worship but is also part of their cultural identity?

  • Can cultural practices be redeemed for worshiping Jesus?

  • What role do the arts play in this discernment process?

Amy’s stories from Southeast Asia, India, the Philippines, Mozambique, and beyond illustrate the powerful and often emotional journey of integrating faith and culture.
