Welcome to Sooo Stignatious!, the podcast where the name is made up but the people are real! My name is Jake Curhan. I'm a 21 year-old student athlete at UC Berkeley. I am going into my redshirt junior year and have started at right tackle for the past two years for Cal Football. I love playing football and have had a good college career so far, however, my passions lie outside of football as well. I have tons of interests and one day want to have a career surrounding one of them. In Sooo Stignatious!, I talk to people that have specific passions and have took action towards making them part of their everyday lives. By talking to these people, my hope is for myself, and the audience, to learn how we can apply our passions to our life everyday life. Feel free to subscribe or leave a rating, and as always, stay Stignatious!

Patrick Laird: Reading for Good
Welcome to Episode 1 of Sooo Stignatious!, the podcast where the name is made up, but the people are real. In this episode I talk to my former teammate Patrick Laird. Pat walked on at Cal and then earned a scholarship right before his breakout season in 2017. Amongst other things, Pat has a passion for reading and used his newfound platform to do good. He created the Patrick Laird Summer Reading Challenge as a way to inspire elementary school children to read over the summer and combat summer learning loss. Together, Patrick and I go into the origins of the challenge, his mentality as a walk-on, his lesser known passion for music, and what he has been up to since his last snap as a Golden Bear. I encourage you to subscribe and leave a rating. As always, stay Stignatious!
