Dr David Molapo is a change & leadership expert. His career spans over 20 years of mentoring, leadership and motivational speaking for change. He has served at top level at some of South Africa's biggest companies including SAA, Dimension Data and international entities like Billy Graham Foundation and UN South Africa.
In this interview on Something Nice with Dinano, Molapo talks about leading in a time of Unrest and Crisis. The world, Africa and South Africa are going through a global crisis brought upon by the COVID-19 pandemic. In Africa there is a need for vaccines but the continent is failing to provide facilities to manufacture them.
In South Africa there is civil Unrest and those in leadership seem to be reacting instead of being proactive to the situation at hand. Molapo offers advice to those in power by giving practical steps to problem solving and troubleshooting a situation of crisis, so that one can rise to the occassion.
He says leaders are revealed during a time of crisis. Dr Molapo also reveals many factors hindering our leaders from being effective at the task at hand.
Humility, self-awareness, empathy and having been coached, mentored and counselled as a leader can help in leading effectively. He makes sense, he is charismatic but most of all he is experienced in this field.
