Chapter 3:1-12
Not Today Satan.
III. Gods actions outweigh the traditions of men. (2:23-3:12) continued.
D. Jesus opponents began trying to spring traps in order to accuse Jesus. (1,2)
E. Jesus questions the hearts of the Pharisees. (3,4)
F. Jesus compassion is met with anger over the condition of man. (5)
G. The institutions of man always try and remove God. (6)
Isaiah 14:12-14 NKJV
12 “How you are fallen from heaven,
O Lucifer, son of the morning!
How you are cut down to the ground,
You who weakened the nations!
13 For you have said in your heart:
‘I will ascend into heaven,
I will exalt my throne above the stars of God;
I will also sit on the mount of the congregation
On the farthest sides of the north;
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds,
I will be like the Most High.’[i]
G. Jesus withdrew as His popularity increased. (7,8)
H. Jesus popularity put His life in danger. (9,10)

25 And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen.[ii]
