In September 2015, Kelley Clayton was beaten to death in her home by an intruder while her children were in a nearby room. Her 7-year-old daughter, Charlie Clayton, was the first to find her lifeless body in the kitchen while Kelley's hockey star husband, Thomas Clayton, was out at a friend’s house playing poker.
