In this special we speak with Leslie Myint (She/Her) an Associate Professor of Data Science and Statistics at Macalester College (https://www.macalester.edu/) and also a member of the Zero Burn Coalition (https://hercshutdown.org/). In this special we discuss The Hennepin Energy Recovery Center (commonly referred to as the HERC) which is a waste-to-energy facility located in downtown Minneapolis that burns garbage to generate energy. The community has spent decades trying to close down the HERC and we may be closer than ever.
