The OutPouring of the Holy Spirit The baptism of the Holy Spirit is a gift from God to empower believers for victorious living and effective witness. It comes through faith, not striving. Believe in Jesus Christ. The first step is salvation — accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior (Acts 2:38, John 3:5). The Holy Spirit fills those who belong to Christ. Ask in faith. Jesus said, “How much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” (Luke 11:13). Simply ask God to fill you with His Spirit. Surrender completely. Yield your heart, mind, and will to God. Let Him take control. The Holy Spirit fills surrendered vessels (Romans 12:1). Receive by faith. Just as you received salvation by faith, receive the Holy Spirit the same way. Trust that when you ask, He fills you (Mark 11:24). Begin to praise and speak. As you worship, you may sense new words or sounds rising in your spirit — let them flow. This is the Holy Spirit giving utterance (Acts 2:4). Speak them freely as an act of faith. Continue in fellowship and prayer. Stay connected to the Word and other Spirit-filled believers. The more you pray and worship, the more the Spirit will strengthen and guide you (Jude 1:20, Ephesians 5:18–19).
