Welcome to my Let's Talk series. It's dedicated to be all natural with thoughts and feelings of the world around us. The values of my podcast is built on the concept of Sankofa. Sankofa means to go back and get it. In my podcast I use this framework to go back into our history, recall the information, and apply it to my everyday life. I do commentary on journal articles related to African American Studies (that was my major) and my objective is to expand on those articles and create a meaningful  discussion around the topic.

Let's Talk, Performative Wokeness | If They Wanted Us, They Would Have Invited Us
Hey everyone, I'm back with another podcast. Today I go on a rant about Performative Wokeness. A trend that I'm seeing many businesses, celebrities, and brands are participating in. I feel they are just cashing in on this movement and it has been diluted and monetized to the point it has become a trend. I also talk about how can we move past the dialogue. I want to see companies move past a post and a hashtag and start doing actionable things. Here is the YouTube video I mentioned about Symbolism: https://youtu.be/pbnA8KEq8f4 Here is the link to the Black Owned bandaid company: https://browndages.com/ As usual follow me on Twitter @LocksSis. Have a great day and a wonderful week!
