So over the last few days I've seen a re-emergence of a few classic tracks from the Noughties - Such as Darude's classic, Sandstorm, and 4 String's trancey classic "Take Me Away". I thought to myself that I'd love to compile a mix of some of my favourite noughties tracks; including some long-forgotten favourites, including one of my absolute favourites that takes me back to heartache of my university days - Roger Sanchez's brilliant "Another Chance".
So after a quick trip down memory lane, I dug up so much, I suspect there might be a sequel to this episode in the near future!
Enjoy!

Sinewave Radio 037: PDH [Progressive and Deep House]
After an absolutely amazing Pride London partying with the amazing guys from Beefmince, I've found myself being really reflective this week, and second guessing everything I do. And I think that comes through in this mix; it's very organic, ranging from the hard-hitting base lines of Oliver Smith, to the heart rending vocals of tracks by aname, and Olafur Arnalds - Arnalds has been one of my favourite contemporary classic composers for many, many years, and always it's fantastic when I get to include him in one of my sets.
The dreamlike WhoMadeWho remix of the Olafur Arnalds & RY X collab has this really strong dreamlike, lo-fi quality, and sits well amongst the other reflective, deep house tracks at the end of this mix.
Incidentally, RY X also closes this mix with their hypnotic track "A Thousand Knives"; a track that really grows on you the more you listen to it.
Initially I had no concept for this set, so I just wandered through my music library and looked at I've recently marked as "liked" on Spotify, shuffle them into some sort of reasonable order in terms of feel, and this is what we get out the other side. And if I can say so, it's turned out to be a pretty solid mix, with only one questionable transition ;)
I absolutely have an strong idea of what I want to do with my next episode, however - I'll be revisiting a genre that has been a pretty big success for me in terms of overall plays, but it's not enough to just revisit the genre, I want a whole new set of tracks, because the genre I chose is really smashing them out lately!
In the mean time, stay safe and enjoy the music,
Soen
