Season Finale: Today, over 1 billion people live without one of the most basic human needs: adequate shelter. By 2050 this number is projected to rise to 3 billion people — a 200% increase over three decades. In this episode, we are featuring Brett Hagler, a change maker who is addressing this problem through innovation. Brett Hagler is the co-founder and CEO of New Story, a nonprofit organization that pioneers solutions to end global homelessness. They work with nonprofits and governments in the developing world to build homes better, cheaper and faster.
New Story has been named by Fast Company one of the “Most Innovative Companies In The World.” In 2019, in partnership with a company called ICON, they developed the first 3D machine designed to print homes. Brett and his team at New Story are currently printing a 3D housing community in rural Mexico. Brett’s work is an example of how dreaming big and thinking outside the box can change people’s lives.
