DESCRIPTION:
In this episode, we dive into the hard conversation of the damage that has been caused by the church. As we introduce our Simply Love Jesus lead team, we also share our own stories of the problems we have seen in the church. We discuss the difficulty of being a part of a community that is supposed to be life-givers but instead spew death. As true believers, we are called to love God and love people as life-givers to the world. We are to be Good News to a world full of darkness and hate including the church. Let’s continue on this journey together as unfold some solutions to the problems in the church and in our world by answering this challenging question… “How far are you willing to go to follow Jesus?”
***CHALLENGE***
1. Grab a piece of paper and a pen.
2. Write at the top of the paper, “How far are you willing to go to follow Jesus?”
3. Then write “Jesus” at the bottom of that paper.
4. From top to bottom make a list of the most important to least important things in your life. (For Example: Family, Health, Friends, Church, Politics, Goals, Dreams, Wealth, etc.) Make the list as long or as short as you want it to be.
5. Starting from the bottom of your list ask yourself this question “Is Jesus more important than _____?”
6. Cross out the word if Jesus is more important. (I.E. "Is Jesus more important than my money?" If yes, then draw a line through "money" and move to the next item on your list.)
7. As you look at each thing on your list challenge yourself to really think and process what in your life may be more important to you than Jesus and why.
8. Work your way all the way to the top of the list and journey through the ones that were more challenging to cross through than others. ____________________________
