We sat down with the cast of We Were The Lucky Ones to talk about what it's like portraying a real-life family, why the project is so close to everyone's hearts, and the importance of telling personal stories that everyone can relate to.

Hunter was inspired to write the book after interviewing her grandmother and learning about her grandfather's experiences during the Holocaust. The series stars Joey King, Logan Lerman, and Hadas Yaron. It was written and executive-produced by Erica Lipez and directed and executive-produced by Thomas Kail.
