Ep. 05: Grief: What is it? How Does It Manifest? How Can We Support One Another? w/ James Philipp

Grief is a rollercoaster of emotions and sensations that we all go through in different chapters of life. For this episode, I chat with the amazing James Phillipp about the basics of grief, and how it can manifest outside of death, all with the aim to provide you with the tools to be a better supporter to those around you.

About James Phillipp:

James is a grief supporter coach, that is someone who supports grievers through their process by empowering the supporters around them to show up more effectively. He has been navigating life alongside grief for 23 years after suddenly losing his older sister Katherine when she was hit by a car walking across the road. In this time, he has felt a deep passion for connecting with others through creating safe spaces for grievers to express their emotions, tell their stories and move through the challenging process

He has recently left the corporate world to start his own project, Supporting Grievers, and is offering a new 6-week group course called Supporting Others through Loss and Grief. In his new project, he hopes to tackle the issue that our society is so illiterate in the subjects of death and grief, often choosing to avoid addressing it entirely and leaving grievers, who need and deserve a helping hand, feeling very alone
