The Anna Nicole Show Ep. 2 – Introducing Bobby Trendy, Sugar Pie’s Secrets & The Ashes Reveal
“Anna Nicole takes us on a literal house tour… with her late husband’s ashes.”

Welcome back to Show Pony, where we gallop through pop culture’s wildest rides — and this week, it’s The Anna Nicole Show, Season 1, Episode 2. This one’s MAJOR.
We’re talking:
💅 The debut of Bobby Trendy, the most over-the-top interior designer in early-2000s reality TV.
🐶 Sugar Pie’s “addiction” gets a wild deep dive — and yes, I go on a passionate rant about her being a pioneer for women’s sexual wellness (and my dog’s… relatable behavior).
⚱️ Then — the emotional, surreal moment where Anna Nicole splits her late husband’s ashes and gives them a tour of her new house. Plus: theatre recommendations (Bat Boy at NYC Center, Little Bear Ridge Road with Laurie Metcalf), current watches (Pluribus on Apple TV and All Her Fault on Peacock), and a personal story about turning down an orgy invite… to make this episode. Priorities, baby. If you love Bravo, reality nostalgia, camp, and chaotic pop culture icons, you’re in the right place. The Anna Nicole Show (2002) Rewatch Begins: Addiction, Fame & The 2000s Reality Renaissance
The Anna Nicole Show rewatch is here! 2000s reality TV, Anna Nicole Smith, Howard K. Stern, Sugar Pie & chaos galore

THE ANNA NICOLE SHOW REWATCH BEGINS — ONLY ON SHOW PONY 🎀 I’ve been teasing this for months… and today, it’s finally happening.
We’re launching the ultimate rewatch of The Anna Nicole Show (2002) — one of the most chaotic, haunting, and unforgettable reality shows of all time. This all-solo episode is a wild ride: I recorded it once, lost the entire audio, and had to redo it from scratch. Maybe Anna wasn’t ready for her comeback yet 👀 Before diving into the rewatch, I start with:
🎭 NYC Broadway & Theatre Recs: Oratorio for Living Things, The Queen of Versailles, and more.
🗣️ Messy White Gays & Pop Culture Vibes: The current energy on and offstage.
📺 Upcoming Show Pony Shows: What’s next this week + future rewatch teases. Then — it’s Anna Time. We dig deep into Anna Nicole Smith: her tranquilized presence, her heartbreaking charisma, and her reflection of fame and addiction in early 2000s America. As a former addict myself, her stillness and pain feel deeply familiar — it’s bittersweet and raw to watch knowing where her story ends. We cover every key player from The Anna Nicole Show:
💄 Howard K. Stern — the enigma: protector, partner, or puppet master?
👦 Daniel Smith — Anna’s son and the emotional center of her world.
👯‍♀️ Kim (Assistant) — chaotic sidekick energy.
🐶 Sugar Pie — the dog, the diva, the icon. This is the definitive Anna Nicole Smith rewatch — where we explore fame, femininity, addiction, and the surreal magic of early 2000s reality TV. If you’re obsessed with Bravo, VH1 nostalgia, celebrity documentaries, or pop culture history, this is your next binge. 🎧 Listen now on Spreaker, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube.

Doug Budin Unleashed: Childhood Scars, Cancelled Costumes, and Bravo-Level Drama
Jeff Lewis Live’s Doug Budin joins for a chaotic deep dive into childhood trauma, cancel-worthy costumes, Bravo drama, and life with Jeff Lewis.

Doug Budin, the official chump of Jeff Lewis Live, joins for a completely unhinged episode filled with ADHD tangents, chaotic memories, and Bravo-grade mess. We talk about everything: Doug’s wild childhood, a violent incident in Sunday school, his first meeting with Jeff Lewis, and travel nightmares from hell (looking at you, LAX and Budapest). We expose a gay doctor’s unforgettable screw-up, fight over fragrances, and go deep into the politics of pillows—yes, both Doug’s and Craig Conover’s. Plus, Doug’s party altercations, a run-in with Tabatha Coffey, and his Halloween costumes that should’ve gotten him cancelled. Fans of Radio Andy and Jeff Lewis won’t want to miss this crossover.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Threads Rejects: Pop Culture & Bravo Chaos w/ Lauren Ashley Smith
Labor Day weekend, my laptop is waterlogged, and somehow this couch chat turned into one of the funniest Show Pony episodes yet. I sit down with Lauren Ashley Smith — TV writer, SiriusXM colleague, and all-around pop culture assassin — to break down Workout season three episode four, the Betty Who controversy, and my unhealthy hobby of trolling MAGA on Threads. We also get into the deeper stuff — gay rights, race, and how reality TV reflects (and distorts) all of it. Think of this episode as a peek behind the radioandy curtain with two friends on a couch enjoying a diet cherry coke. We get Lauren's take on early Bravo shows as well as an up to the minute list of all things you should be watching this week.

Lesbian Cruise Confidential: Danny Pellegrino Spills Everything Iconic
Danny Pellegrino turns Bravo commentary into life advice I didn’t expect.

Danny Pellegrino (Everything Iconic) joins me for a wide-ranging chat about all things Bravo, WORKOUT, Dad Life, and everything in between. Danny’s mix of humor and cultural insight makes him one of the sharpest voices covering reality TV, and our chat is equal parts hilarious and revealing. We break down WORKOUT Season 3, Episode 3 — Jackie Warner’s lesbian cruise, workplace hookups, and the mysterious disappearance of the mud run. Danny shares his obsession with lesbian drama, thoughts on Bravocon, and how gay representation on reality TV has evolved. But then he turns the tables on me. Danny asks about my dating life, my so-called uncle fetish, and why my audience deserves more of my authentic self. His advice about SHOW PONY is blunt, funny, and surprisingly inspiring — and I actually take it. If you love Bravo, reality TV, and conversations that go deeper than gossip, this one’s essential listening.

From Rachel Zoe to Jackie Warner: Reality TV’s Wild West with Elizabeth Kott
It’s a sunny Hollywood backyard chat with Too Niche? host and vintage Bravo expert Elizabeth Kott — the woman who convinced me to start Show Pony in the first place. Elizabeth worked with Rachel Zoe back in the day (yes, she shares what it was like to work for her), and she knows the Bravo era, LA culture, and reality TV from the inside out. This episode is a double-header:
  • Workout Season 3, Episode 2 Recap – Jackie Warner, Sky Sport & Spa, and all the Bravo chaos of 2007.
  • Netflix’s The Biggest Loser Documentary (“Fit for TV?”) – how reality TV mocked fat people and why cruelty passed as entertainment.
Plus, we get into the good stuff:
  • I spill tea on producing Tori Spelling’s reality show and the behind-the-scenes of negotiating brand deals in reality TV.
  • The disgusting state of LA’s The Grove — how it’s turned into a dystopian influencer catwalk where everyone dresses like a whore (thank you, social media).
  • The toxic state of online culture and unattainable beauty standards that keep recycling from one era to the next.
  • LA then vs. now: from Rachel Zoe’s fashion reign to Jackie Warner’s fitness empire to today’s influencer mess.
It’s Bravo nostalgia, reality TV industry secrets, and an unfiltered state-of-LA breakdown — all from the backyard, with iced drinks and plenty of shade.

Reunion Bombshell & Spray Tanning My Labubu (Show Pony Ep. 16)
After last week’s confrontation with Andy Cohen, I found out the Workout reunion was available to stream after all. So this episode is me walking that back—recapping the reunion, eating shit, and trying to make it right. The original plan was to do this with Justin Martindale while we got a spray tan from Sugared and Bronzed. But he overslept, so I ended up doing the recap in my living room with the spray tan girlies. It ended up being the most fun segment ever… until I realized the mics didn’t record. So this one’s mostly narrated. I also meet up with my longtime best friend and reality TV producer Lindsay Weiglein on the roof of the mall to try and salvage what’s left—of the episode and of my credibility. Somewhere in the chaos, we end up spray tanning a Labubu.

FINALE FEVER: Confronting Andy Cohen and Cruising A Gay Park with H Alan Scott
It’s the Workout Season 2 finale recap... but things get messy real fast.
First, John corners Andy Cohen in New York after their SiriusXM show to ask about the missing reunion episode — and it turns into a heated moment caught on camera. Then back in LA, H. ALAN SCOTT (Newsweek, Parting Shot) joins for a deep dive into the finale, but the conversation quickly spirals into a glorious sideshow covering:
  • public cruising in a West Hollywood park
  • rich mean gays
  • What is Sniffies
  • John's Dick pics
  • horrible dog owners
  • a performance artist with pantyhose on her head rolling a giant ball of twine through the interview
  • and a baby Labubu perched on H. Alan's lap through it all.
What starts as a recap becomes a performance piece. Welcome to Show Pony.

The Emergency Provincetown Episode with Eric Maxwell
This is what commitment looks like, people. Yes, we’re possibly hungover. Yes, we do recap Episode 6, Season 2 of Bravo’s Workout (Jackie loses it, Doug is DONE, and the emotional violence is at an all-time high). And somehow, despite being horizontal and under-air-conditioned, we remain ICONIC. 🧴 What’s inside:
– A Workout recap with zero prep and maximum passion
– Provincetown gossip, vacation rants, and sunscreen regrets
– Friendship, filth, and feral hotel energy
– John trying to be a podcaster and a slut at the same time Don’t miss this chaotic, short, and absolutely necessary mess of an episode. 👉 Subscribe. Like. This episode of Show Pony was barely supposed to happen.
