After years of deep Torah study in an Israeli yeshiva, in the late 90s American born ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ฏ๐ถ ๐ก๐ผ๐ฎ๐บ ๐๐ผ๐ฒ๐ป๐ถ๐ด๐๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ด moved with his young family to a flourishing religious Jewish community in Gaza. Then, in the year 2000 everything changed, the second intifada began and life in Gush Katif was never the same again. By 2005 Jewish presence in Gaza was completely eradicated following the Israeli government's fateful disengagement policy.
In this highly emotionally charged episode, Rav Noam and I discuss the impact of his strong religious Zionist upbringing, his making aliyah, Gush Katif experiences and what it was like in those dark days of disengagement which culminated in him literally being dragged from his home by Israeli security forces. Sad but true unfortunately. Amongst many fascinating spiritual topics, we delve into the foundational Jewish mindset of 'emunah' - faithfulness to God and its true meaning. We hope this show inspires and uplifts you as it did me.
