Ken & Friends Pop Out Concert, Chris Brown the new MJ? Camron on Jay-Z & Hip Hop's Relationship
In this week's episode, we recap the legendary Ken & Friends concert on Juneteenth in Inglewood, California. Kendrick Lamar, DJ Mustard, DJ Hed, and friends did not disappoint and showcased unity on the West Coast. Fat Joe posed a question and got us thinking if Chris Brown is this era's Michael Jackson. Swizz Beatz and Timbaland announce a partnership with Elon Musk's X platform (formerly Twitter) for future Versuz and we chime in on if the ship has sailed. Camron had some interesting things to say about Jay-Z's current relationship with hip-hop.
For our anniversaries this week, we return to the summer of 2004 when Jadakiss released his legendary Champ is Here Mixtape with DJ Big Mike and Green Lantern and his sophomore album Kiss of Death. Next, we remember Eminem's comeback LP Recovery and tap into J. Cole's Born Sinner album. Finally, we close out the show by paying respects to the late Prodigy of Mobb Deep. All that and more on this week's episode of the Shifting the Culture Podcast. Listen to Episode 30 now.
