She Was the First: Conversations with Women Trailblazers featuring Gwen Keyes Fleming

Gwen Keyes Fleming is a trailblazer who many remember from her tenure as an executive in the Obama Administration. What you may not know is that before she headed off to Washington, D.C. to leave her imprint on the national stage, she made history in 2005 as the first woman District Attorney of DeKalb County, Georgia.

Nationally known for her expert leadership and problem-solving skills, Gwen has received numerous honors and awards for her contributions to the legal profession. When Gwen talks, people listen. When Gwen leads, people follow.

Never too busy to give back, she volunteers her time as a mentor and serves on numerous boards.

In this episode, she candidly shares with host Ebony Phillips some of the greatest challenges she faced on her journey to becoming “the first” and her personal experience with the “imposter syndrome” and how she overcame it. Tune in!
