The New Adventures of Sherlock Holmes was an exceedingly popular Old-time Radio (OTR) show that aired in the United States, and starred Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce from October 1939 to July 1947. Edith Meiser, Dennis Green and Anthony Boucher wrote the episodes. Together, Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce appeared in 220 episodes as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson.

In this podcast episode, Dr. Watson tells the story of the Hampstead Heath murders to a live audience at Camp Roberts, and the inspector from Scotland Yard provides details about the case. Unidentified characters, including victims of the murderer, also speak. The story involves a series of murders of young women, and Scotland Yard turns to Sherlock Holmes for help. Dr. Watson and Sherlock Holmes visit a wax museum in search of clues about the murderer and discover that the wax figure of the murderer is missing. They suspect that the owner of the museum, Lavec, may be involved and are confronted by him. They manage to outsmart him and escape, and the episode ends with Holmes admitting that he was unable to recognize the pattern and suggesting that if Watson were to chronicle the story, he should title it "The Education of an Idiot."

Murder Beyond The Mountains
In this podcast episode, the speakers include Irene Farley, a medical missionary, and Sherlock Holmes, who is initially introduced as Olaf Sigurdsson, a Norwegian explorer. The discussion revolves around their journey to the monastery of Pancha Pushpa in Tibet, where they encounter various characters, including a Russian envoy and the monastery's abbot. The narrative unfolds as Holmes expresses concerns about potential dangers and murder linked to their visit, emphasizing the emotional tension present in the setting.
The events take place during their stay at the monastery, where they seek permission to travel to the sacred city of Lhasa. The abbot ultimately denies their requests, highlighting the geopolitical tensions between Great Britain and Russia. This episode is significant as it showcases Holmes's deductive skills and the interplay of international relations in a historical context, reflecting the complexities of the era. The story is inspired by Arthur Conan Doyle's "The Adventure of the Empty House," and it emphasizes themes of danger, mystery, and the quest for knowledge.
