
This COVID-19 season is bringing into our awareness our own mortality, and in ways that cause much anxiety. It's ironic that so many people fear for the worst, and we are advised to behave as though we already have the virus, without realizing that we are all actually already taking steps closer to death each day. This is a reality that we simply refuse to face until a dire situation forces us to do so. How are we to respond to all of our individual, inescapable deaths? We might be able to save ourselves from the virus, but how are we to escape the inevitable judgment of Christ?
