If you need your spirits lifted by listening to two women laugh and talk over one another, then this episode is for you. Hector the horse gets a special mention as does the Argentinian stallion (also a horse despite Amber's intimations). The actual topic is vision boards, however we don't do the process (which we both use in our professional lives) much justice. During the sharing of their vision board creations, Jade's lack of metaphor or symbolism leaves amber to imagine knotted vulvas and other such hilarity. Which for the record were not very sound interpretations, she would make a terrible therapist. Perhaps you will be inspired or a little curious, at the very least you will laugh along with us.

This episode is certainly uncut and unpolished. Staying on brand here. No edits, snorts and all. Whilst the title might imply that this episode is for the neurodivergent new mums, it could easily be called 'how to avoid burnout', or 'how to share the load', or 'how to reach out for support', or 'how to say no to the Sunday lunch with the in-laws if you're exhausted or just needing time to yourself'.  Jade share's a long list of the things she would or wouldn't do if she had her new parent time again. Amber reflected that she didn't struggle with organisation and that we could punch her if we found this annoying. She also complained about her current lack of storage and Jade encourages listeners to not empathise with her due to the size of her wardrobe. In conclusion, this episode is for any mum, or burnt-out individual that pushes themselves to do more and be more. You have permission to drop some of those balls, put some earplugs in and stop trying to meet those unattainable expectations.

WARNING: this podcast was recorded without all mentally faculties on board. We are in a slightly delirious mood so if you need a good laugh whilst you're completing a boring task, then wrap your ears around this utter rambling silliness. As the title suggests, we share our charity hike adventures, the eating of phallic shaped chips and general rantings about public pools/bathing. Beyond Blue's 30km Great Aussie Hike is the hero of this episode. The sister's, and their amazing team mates, share their training journey and hiking highlights, including the rave like vibe, fabulous volunteers with cow bells, and the curious case of abandoned milk. Well there's an episode teaser if ever I've heard one. Amber really, really dislikes public pools, the weird vortex of older chaps in budgie smugglers, parents in work attire and the general sensory chaos leaves her questioning her life choices. We discuss the mental effort involved in putting your head under the water that some teenage has just sneezed in and Amber really wants to know if you have ever noticed the gross grout. Thanks to Amber, you certainly will next time you brave a public pool. The sisters work out a roster for public bathing groups which includes copulating couples, exuberant teens, parents with kids of any age that practice a free parenting style, chatting/loud laughing people and of course like minded, quiet (non sneezing or screaming) bathers like us. A simple non-judgmental system! They also talk about Love Gel, which they affectionally call 'love juice'. No, it's not a lubricant it's a coffee energy gel. When Jade consumed her Love Gel not only did she make exaggerated facial expressions looking like she needed medical assistance but the resulting joyful energy for the last 8km of the hike was somewhat irritating to her less spritely sister (age is catching up on her). Amber's Semiprecious moment was harassing people last minute for donations and Jade shares one of her husband's, you'll have to make it to the end to find out. Happy belated International Women's Week. This episode begins in a flurry, it took over an hour to get the remote recording working (tech issues on Ambers end). During this hour, Amber was stretched out on a hotel bed drinking some pineapple, canned, cocktail concoction after a full day of International Women's Week conference. Whilst Jade was drinking a beer and overheating in her wardrobe, which was the best recording option available to her. The conversation begins with both sisters describing how their year began in a flurry and moved on to deeper and philosophical content such as existential dread and disorganised linen cupboards! Amber describes her 'in a flurry hands' as "two crabs touching each other on a mirror", a confusing and somewhat disturbing image that we shouldn't read too much into. Both sisters reflect on the contributing factors such as peri-menopause, fear of scarcity and the mental load. They also talk about the potential  impact of long term flurriness, such as drawing others into the whirlwind, taking on more than they have capacity for and the inevitable burnout. Amber's Semi-precious moment could have an entire episode devoted to it. To sum it up, she eats like an unattended 7year old when away from home and on her own.  As for Jade's, well… Amber accuses her of 'youngest child narcissism', which Jade adamantly defends and reframes as self soothing. And seeing as she in the mental health professional here (and she is writing this episode summary) we'll just say that she was right! It's that time of the year again! In this episode the Semi-Precious sisters share words of wisdom (or  thinly veiled regrets) for their 25 year old selves. Amber recalls what a rocking body she had at 25 and how she wish she'd appreciated it more. Whilst Jade struggles to remember where she was at 25! Both agree that they wish they'd been more money savvy (Jade more so) and that they'd drank less (probably Jade again). Amber wishes she'd worn more sunscreen which inspires Jade to make her podcast singing debut. She thought about deleting it, but given she wished she were braver in her 20's, she leaves the off key signing for you all to enjoy.  Perhaps they could have just played the sunscreen song, and saved the effort of producing this episode, but where would be the fun in that.  This episode semi-precious moments reflect on poor parenting choices regarding slime and not learning lessons from previous household floods.  If you're under 30, grab a note book and learn from our mistakes. In this episode Amber and Jade share their hilarious and horrific dating stories from the past. Amber confesses to a plan to get her now husband drunk on their 4th date so he could meet Jade and friends. It did not go as planned.  Jade recommends not choosing expensive wines on first dates, in case they need to be skulled or left behind. Amber recommends a simple G&T, 3 sips- your'e done. They split the difference and decide maybe shots is the way to go. Just not tequila.   Amber says that the only acceptable reason a man in his 30's would still be living at home is if his house was accidentally demolished and Jade confesses to having taken a date to her (first and only) stand up poetry reading. Look out, the Semi-Precious sisters have created their finest podcasting moment together! In this absolute ripper of an episode, Amber shares how number 7 is her lucky number, declaring lucky numbers to never be in the double digits. Jade calls bullshit and they eventually get back on track. They explore the subtle art of friendships, as usual, Amber doesn't care too much about what people think of her, whilst Jade questions every interaction. Both sister confess to some friendship hoarding issues. They both agree that they need more laughter and playfulness in friendships, Amber declaring "If a girls night didn't challenge my pelvic floor, then it may not have been worth while". They agree that it's ok to let go of friendships that are no longer serving you, and to have the difficult conversations with friends if you have needs that are not being met. This idea may have caused Jade to panic and overheat. Note to Amber's friends: If you're rattling on about your kids, she has probably zoned out. And yes, she knows she's got high expectations. Note to Jade friends: If she's stopped calling you it's because she assumes you don't care anymore, invite her to brunch! In episode 4, Amber and Jade share their experience of ageing as Amber sits across from Jade studying how much 'work' there is to be done- beginning with her thin patchy eyebrows and chipped nails. In episode 2, the Semi Precious sisters share what it was like growing up in the 70's and 80's in a big and somewhat dysfunctional family. They quickly discover there are a few things they didn't know about one another. Jade reveals that she wasn't a goody two shoes despite her smiling façade, whilst Amber confesses, she was both a scaredy cat and "a bit of an asshole". As the youngest 2 of 5 sisters, they compete for the 'who had it toughest' award. Jade wins, because she's the one writing this intro. However, Amber exceeds expectations with her Semi Precious moment which will resonate for many women that have had children. Amber also enriches our lives with a couple of Little Gems. A podcast that's clever, silly and sometimes unbelievable. SEMI-PRECIOUS follows the stories of two high energy neurodivergent sisters who have survived some pretty tricky life situations. In what can only be described as a classic case of over sharing, the hosts, a brand strategist (the blonde one) and a relationship counsellor (the brunette) talk uncut and unpolished about business, raising humans, embarrassing accidents and their unhealthy obsession with Champagne, cheese and gin. As is typical for Amber, she will avoid answering anything that gets too emotional or raw (at least in this episode) and Jade will over share her story and try to pry vulnerability from Amber's soul!  While there is a bit about us, our families, career and disposition - we also try to unpack what the hell we are doing producing a podcast. - neither of us have enough time or commitment to completing projects so it will be amazing if we get past this first episode up!
