DJs In The Distance 004: The Lockdown Sessions (December 2020)
Here it is: the final chapter... probably.
With a few months delay between the second and third effort; we challenged ourselves to finish the final edition before the end of the year, which meant completing two in a month—and hey, we made it!
So, for (perhaps) the final time; here is the write-up and context of this little project, completed during a particularly challenging year for most:
Normally, we'd collectively circle a date and eagerly await our next opportunity to catch up—beers, banter, laughs, and of course, the tunes.
In this current climate/during this challenging period; said opportunities haven't afforded themselves, so we've been forced to get a little creative with regard to a platform for sharing and consuming music together... and flexing our creative muscles in the process.
Enter 'The Lockdown Sessions'. DJs In The Distance. Now, the fourth and probably final edition. We've once again mixed up the order to keep things interesting.
It's a DJ take on "pass the parcel"... in the best way possible. Play four tracks and pass it on. Four more, and on she goes. No specific plan nor objective. Just four of your favourites—newer, older, a guilty pleasure, a cherished favourite, or something experimental. Whatever you please—it's your stanza.
This is the result: a (hopefully) cohesive 80-odd minutes of music from four mates. Four like-minded individuals. Compiled and mixed indulgently within our respective abodes.
