
In this episode of Seeing Clearly, Emaan Chaudry and Danielle Solish talk to Dr. Nupura Bakshi, a medical retina and uveitis specialist and Associate Professor in the Department of OPhthalmology and Vision Sciences at the University of Toronto.
After residency training at the University of Toronto, Dr. Bakshi completed fellowships in both Retina and Uveitis at the National Eye Institute, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Bakshi has a special interest in medical and surgical education, and advancing equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) in medicine. She is serving as the inaugural Chair of the EDI Working Group for the Canadian Ophthalmological Society (COS). She is the Vice Chair of Clinical Services and Quality for the Department of Ophthalmology and Vision Sciences and is a member of the Diversity Advisory Council for the Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto. She has won multiple teaching awards for her efforts in training residents and fellows.
