In celebration of National Adoption month Kerrie speaks with Karen Pickles, a Somatic Relational Trauma-informed Guide and Mental Health Peer. Karen was adopted at the age of four months, by her “meant to be” parents. After having two children of her own, Karen began to wonder how her early life experiences, and biology played into her life story. This is a deeply reflective conversation about the power of love, of looking after one’s self, finding courage to ask uncomfortable questions and healing with compassion.
