Is the Mother of God to be likened to a hammer-wielding combatant (Jael)? Is Our Lady to be compared to a rock-hurling warrior (from Thebez)? Is the Virgin Mary akin to one who gives the green light for assassination (in Abel)? Is Our Lady of Sorrows related to one who decapitates a comatose man with his sword (Judith)? The answer is both ‘Of course!’ and ‘Of course not!’
