Come si affronta il dolore? Che si tratti di quello storico o di quello di un'altra persona, è davvero difficile capire come sentirsi quando non è qualcosa che non ci riguarda direttamente. Jesse Eisenberg ha sfruttato la sua esperienza personale per raccontarlo in A Real Pain, la sua seconda opera da regista e sceneggiatore. Il film affronta un viaggio di scoperta e catarsi attraverso le figure di David (interpretato dallo stesso Eisenberg) e Benji (Kieran Culkin), ma la storia dietro la sua realizzazione è ancor più particolare. E c'entra anche Emma Stone.
