From Cans to Cash: Maximizing Your Recycling Efforts

In our recent episode of ScrapTalk, we had the pleasure of hosting Ben Hill, the supervisor at our non-ferrous building. Ben shared invaluable insights about handling used beverage cans and other important aspects of our recycling process.

Here are three key takeaways from our conversation:

- Streamline and Clean: It's essential to ensure your used beverage cans are free of trash, aluminum foil, and steel cans. We only accept clean, used beverage cans to maintain the quality of the recycled material.

- Safety First: Unfortunately, hypodermic needles sometimes find their way into bags of cans. For everyone’s safety, please check and ensure your cans are empty and free of dangerous items before bringing them in.

- Give Back with Tabs: While we purchase aluminum tabs at the aluminum can price, we donate them to local Shriners. These tabs help fund cancer treatments and toys for kids undergoing treatment—a fantastic way to give back to the community.

Listen to the full episode for more details on how to maximize your recycling efforts and make a positive impact!

♻️ Keep your recycling safe, clean, and community-minded!
