For many shows, the axe falls before everything gets a chance to play out. Ratings and network executives generally bring doom to our favorite shows and they die before their time. But every now and again, the network will give a series the opportunity to wrap up everything in a package and go out on their terms.

Sometimes, this doesn't go as well as planned.
