The Economic History of Denmark

Paul Sharp is professor of business and economics at the Historical Economics and Development Group (HEDG) at the University of Southern Denmark. He is a senior fellow at the Danish Institute for Advanced Study. Paul is recognised as a leading authority on Danish economic history. In this episode, Paul shares his knowledge of how new technology and ways of thinking took Denmark from being one of the poorest countries in Europe 300 years ago, to being one of the richest today. His insights can be found in more detail in his book, A Land of Milk and Butter: How Elites Created the Modern Danish Dairy Industry (with Markus Lampe).
