In this first installment of the multi-episode story "The Web in Space", a clone comes across an impossible structure built around a star and studies the object as he approaches to dock with it. The sheer scale of the construct, and the time it would have taken to build it, is truly beyond imagination, and he can't wait to make contact with it's builders, but he closer he gets, the more he suspects that the structure may no longer be inhabited.
