Thank you for listening to this interview with Nikon Ambassador Kristi Odom by the School of Wedding Photography. Kristi has won over 60 international awards, she is a Nikon Ambassador, and has spoken on stage for Nikon, WPPI, and Fearless. Her work has appeared in the Smithsonian Museum, in Rolling Stone magazine, Rangefinder, Junebug and on a billboard in Times Square. Topics Covered Aristotle said: "In all things of nature there is something of the marvelous." Do you think the same can be said of weddings? Why are you a photographer? Why do you shoot nature and weddings? Interested in your approach to storytelling in both nature and weddings. Do you find shooting these different subjects benefits the other? I think there's a Received wisdom if you're a wedding photographer, that you can't show things other than weddings on your website, you have to show you're a specialist - you've ignored that, and clearly have nature and weddings intermixed in your branding, why? Do you think it helped or hurt either of your fields? How useful has it been to win so many awards? Your images have deep emotion in them, how do you find and capture that? How has second shooting weddings helped you? You travel a lot, how do you fund that? Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give your self when you were starting out in wedding photography? How would you define being a successful a wedding photographer? What do you think are the three most important things to focus on to become a successful wedding photographer? What questions do younger photographers usually ask you? What questions should they be asking you? What are you looking forward to? If people want to follow you, where can they mostly find you?
