Episode 112 - Brick by Brick: Community Starts with a Home | Maitreyi Karanth
Have you ever wondered what it feels like to build homes for others while not having one yourself?

In episode 112 of Maggy’s podcast, she welcomes an extraordinary guest: Maitreyi Karanth, the founder and CEO of the Koma Karanth Foundation. Maitreyi’s journey is one of resilience, strength, and purpose. Raised in harsh conditions, she lost her father at a young age and grew up caring for her blind mother. These early life challenges shaped her into a compassionate leader, deeply committed to uplifting others.

Today, Maitreyi dedicates her life to supporting indigenous communities in the Philippines. Her foundation builds more than just houses—it builds hope. From establishing the Koma School to providing feeding programs, water access, transportation for children, and empowering women to become self-sufficient, her work is a testament to what’s possible when care meets action.

Maitreyi is not only the driving force behind the Koma Karanth Foundation—she’s also an actress, TEDx speaker, stand-up comedian, and recipient of the Global Women of Influence Award. A true powerhouse, she uses every platform to advocate for those in need.

The foundation also partners with Ocean Material on “The Circular Roadshow,” a sustainable initiative supported by SANUSPLANET, focused on recycling and upcycling. But our shared mission doesn’t stop there—we aim to support all of Koma Karanth’s vital projects, including building homes for those without one.

You can join us in this mission. Every time you use the SANUSAPP, you're helping us support life-changing initiatives.
