
In the Kathopanishad, a young boy named Nachiketa goes to the abode of Death to learn the secret of death. Death grants him three boons, and Nachiketa uses his first boon to learn the secret of death. Death reveals to him that the secret of death is that there is no death. There is only immortality.
In the second boon, Nachiketa asks to be reunited with his father, who had died. Death grants his request, and Nachiketa is reunited with his father in the afterlife.
In the third boon, Nachiketa asks to be freed from the cycle of birth and death. Death grants his request, and Nachiketa achieves immortality.
