In a comfortable world of standard 8-5 office jobs and uber eats, safety, and routine there are some that pursue different paths. Cole King is one of those, called up to Alaska to fish with his family years ago for Sockeye Salmon. This venture has taught him about grit, hard work, lack of sleep, stress, cold, danger unlike many could truly imagine. Alaska is often called the Last Frontier, for a reason…things are often bigger, grander, wilder and more dangerous than in the lower 48… it’s just the the nature of the beast.  and most can’t make it through these conditions. The question that must be asked becomes why would anyone choose this life, because it’s definitely not for the money, but maybe accomplishment that a commercial fisherman that keeps them coming back. One thing is for sure in Alaska, calm seas don’t make sailors… I mean fisherman.
