Rush and Zapata Talk - Episode 18 - Seattle Hip Hop History - The L.S.R. Era - Part Two

Happy New Year! It is 2021 and to close out the year we spent time with my good friends, Ray Valrey aka MC Eaze aka Eazeman tha Beatmasheen and Zhonyak Love aka Kid Mix.

They are original members of a Seattle hip hop crew, L.S.R. (Lovesick Rhymers)

There have been documentaries and books written about parts of Seattle’s rich Hip Hop culture, history and evolution.

We should enjoy them all and learn from them.

The L.S.R. Era is a part of the Hip Hop culture history that evolved in Seattle from 1984 to 1991. (From the Yesler Shot to Bangor St.)

There is no monopoly on Seattle Hip Hop History. Everyone has a story of how they connected to Hip Hop and the culture as it has evolved from underground to main stream.

For most of us in the L.S.R. era it quickly became part of our way of life. The culture for us during this era was underground and yes, we trying to model the east coast and as Hip Hop was modeled before us in concerts and glimpse on television.

Respect to “DJ Please, The Dira Boys, The School Boys, Duracell, Silver Shadow D, IllRock, Derox, Cache, Rude Dog, RMF, The Underworld – DJ Too Quick and Dee.Ale, DJ Greg B., Ready N Willin, Art of Skill, DJ Skill, Drone, Voice One, Keep One, Crafy One, Dope Style Productions, Ricoh One Productions, DJ Lowell Henderon, DJ Nasty Nes, Glen Boyd (Music Menu) and Anthony Sir Mix A lot Ray."

These were the groups, MCs and DJs that were the brotherhood for a lot of us that came up in the Hip Hop Culture in our era and story.

Respect to all of the members of the L.S.R. Producrush,(Original and New) Fresh One, Ace One, DJ Lovesick Larry, 5519 (Marcus Johnson) and Rest in Power, MC HR1.

Eazeman and Kid Mix share their stories of how their hip hop journey began and the beginning of “The Lovesick Rhymers”.

It’s another fire episode! Happy New Year! And Enjoy!

This is part two of a series. There is no way we could fit this rich history into two episodes, so please check out the history and music on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/user/ThaBeatMasheen
