S03: E03 - The real history of XC with Andrew Hutchinson
In this week's episode Lisa takes a deep dive down the real history of XC rabbit hole with the author of The Complete History of Cross-Country Running: From the Nineteenth Century to the Present Day - Andrew Hutchinson. In her wide ranging conversation conversation with Andrew they discuss the genesis of the sport through hare and hound paper-chasing private school boys, Olympic readmission, his personal mission to reinvigorate cross-country running, involvement in Aarhus 2019, and contribution to the 2021 world XC to be held in Bathurst Australia. Meanwhile, Brian finds life priorities getting in the way of running and Lisa nurses her ITB but still manages to run 19:05 and finish first at Albert Park parkrun.
