Since Winston Churchill uttered the words “special relationship”, the British press and diplomats have been infatuated with how close the two countries are. 

Following the highpoint of the 90s where America and UK politicians developed policies, and wars, together the “special relationship” hasn’t been as distant as it is now, as both tread the path to protectionism and international isolationism. Will a Biden win mean a reset? Can Trump be trusted on making a trade deal?
