Hello and welcome back to Run Fast, Lift Heavy!

Today I was joined by movement and muscle mechanics coach, Ash Grossman. After experiencing a number of trapped nerve impingements in his traps and neck, Ash endeavoured to find out more about the way to body moves and how injuries can be prevented.  

In this conversation, Ash and I discussed:

- Why static stitching isn’t preventing you from injuries & why range of motion training trumps flexibility

- Why most injury rehab is reactive and why we should be working towards proactive and preventative techniques  

- Why most of the injuries in CrossFit are caused by doing too much too early   

We finished off with a game of overrated vs underrated covering topics such as:

- Are massage guns effective? 

- Should we buy into toe spacers or barefoot shoes? 

- Are kipping movements necessary for fitness? 

- Does foam rolling work?
