Thupten Jinpa is a Tibetan Buddhist scholar, former monk, and an academic of religious studies and both Eastern and Western philosophy. He is well known across the world as being the principal English translator to the Dalai Lama since 1985.
I had the privilege of meeting Jinpa for the first time in India in December 2019 for an incredible Buddhist festival where I had the life-changing experience of also meeting his holiness the Dalai Llama. In this conversation, we talk about his experience of growing up as a Tibetan refugee in India, losing his mother at a very young age, and the importance of practicing compassion if you want to be happy.
