121. What I'm Grateful For & Lessons Learnt After 2 Years As A Freelance Entertainer

It's here! My reflections on what it's been like working as a freelance entertainer for the last 2 years. I broke this one down into things I'm grateful for and lessons learnt. And there were a lot more lessons learnt. Hope you enjoy it!

What I'm Grateful For:

I've paid all my bills for 2 years off the back of telling jokes and reading quiz questions
I've begun to get some response from the content I'm creating
I'm feeling more connected in my communities
The podcast has been a very good networking tool
Second comedy special was received very well, nearly at 10k views.

Lessons learnt:

Success is not going to make you happy
You will be told "no" more times that you can count, get used to it.
Therapy is worth the money
Idle hands are the devil's plaything
Crumbs make crumbcake
The cavalry is not coming to save you
You can never predict what's going to happen, curve balls will constantly be coming your way
Even with a dream job, you're still going to have shitty days
When it's going well, it's never going as good as you think it is, and when it's going bad, it's never going as bad as you think it is.
"Bush was terrible for the world, but great for punk"
