From government policies to the air we breathe, the high streets we shop on, the food on our plates, and the places we live and work - our health is shaped by the world around us.
Featuring expert guests from a breadth of sectors, fields and industries, Spread the Health explores how our environment influences health in both obvious and unexpected ways.
We tackle the big questions about the nation's health and, crucially, examine how to overcome the barriers to building a healthier future for all.
Spread the Health is a podcast from the Royal Society for Public Health, the world’s oldest public health agency.

Bereavement and grief are traditionally thought of as the result of ill health, rather than the cause of it. To shed light on the realities of how universally experienced tragedies affect us physically as well as mentally and emotionally, we speak to Ines Thiru and Deepa Doshi, CEO and Head of Mission Services at the Ruth Strauss Foundation.
Founded after the death of Ruth Strauss, wife of Cricketer Sir Andrew Strauss, their work focuses on support for families facing the death of a loved one with a terminal illness, as well as research into non-smoking lung cancers. Ines and Deepa speak to William about their mission, their collaboration with RSPH on pre-bereavement training for schools and workplaces, as well as how sport can bring communities together in the face of tragedy.
We also hear from Producer Ben, who has stepped out from behind the mixing desk to talk about the newly redesigned RSPH website.
