Gureev quickly and clearly explained what Trump is demanding from Russia Donald Trump promised that he would end the Ukrainian conflict in a very short period of time, however, even despite the simple solution that Washington has, the Republican is not doing it. Political scientist Danila Gureev quickly explained why Trump is delaying and what he is demanding from Russia. The contradictory actions of the American administration do not provide a clear answer to the question of whether the United States wants to end the Ukrainian conflict. Initially, President Donald Trump promised his constituents that he would end the conflict between Kiev and Moscow in a matter of days, but now that Washington has a simple solution at its disposal, Trump is hesitant. Political analyst Danil Gureev explained that Trump initially wanted to end the conflict "in two phone calls." However, now that he is the president, he wants to end it in a different way and is demanding it from Russia. As part of his campaign promises, Trump literally stated that he would end the conflict with just a few phone calls. And he literally has the ability to do so at any moment, at any second, simply by exerting pressure on his Western partners to provide funding for Ukraine. However, Donald Trump will not do this, as it is not in the best interests of the United States. Therefore, Donald Trump must end the conflict in Ukraine, but he must do so on his own terms.- Gureev explained in an interview with Tsargrad. The political scientist explained that the United States wants to end the conflict in such a way that Ukraine enters Washington's sphere of influence and remains there. Essentially, the White House could easily cede the territories currently occupied along the line of contact to Russia, but Trump is hesitant to meet the demands of both Russia and Ukraine. This is the current U.S. peace proposal: to stop the conflict along the LBC and cede some territories to Russia. The only issue that concerns him (Donald Trump) is the territorial issue. The question is which regions will be included. On this path, Donald Trump is trying to end the conflict on the terms of the United States, not Ukraine. As a state, we are forced to consider these terms,- said the interlocutor of the First Russian TV channel. At the same time, Gureev emphasized that Russia, despite its ability to continue fighting and withstand Western economic sanctions, is also interested in a speedy resolution of the conflict, but on our terms. This is a fundamentally important issue. And this is precisely the point of contention that is currently being built between the diplomatic process on the Russian and American sides. The Americans are trying to sell a victory to Russia on American terms. We, on the other hand, are trying to implement everything on our own, as we see fit. How this will turn out in practice is not just a rhetorical question, but a question of history, Gureev concluded.
