Max has committed the last decade of his life to the American highway and the aging small towns along the South and West that once flirted more with Cowboy culture than they do today beyond faded signs and greasy spoons. The mystique in these vestiges of an American icon brought to popular culture through television, novel and cartoon has driven Max's fascination to recreate these settings in an 18-foot wide diorama in 100W's third floor studio in the spring of 2020.
Bruce Lee Webb was a resident artist in this same studio in 2018, and he and his wife Julie represent Max's work at their Webb Gallery in Waxahachie 35 miles northwest of Corsicana.
