Are universities broken?

From August the 1st student’s will spend £26 at least per day on University tuition alone. That’s every day, every year. In fact, that’s only for homegrown students, with international student tuition varying but costing a fuck* of a lot more.

Why is university so expensive? And how – despite all this money – are universities slashing jobs and and courses?
