Episode 44 : The Black Storyteller with Chris Henny Nyanguila

On this episode, we chat with Chris Henny Nyanguila, a former basketball player turned film student who used his grant funding to create a storytelling workshop. We cover topics from being encouraged to do stereotypical black things, to how to impact beyond your target audience, film school vs. being self taught, the therapy in storytelling and even how to attend film school for free. Chris also shares a documentary he worked on called Trait-Union, how to leverage a story into another story and exactly how he navigates through the noise to align with his true identity.

This episode of the #RisingYouth Podcast was developed in partnership with Changing The Narrative Podcast. For more information on #RisingYouth Community Service Grants of up to $1,500 available to youth 15-30, visit https://www.risingyouth.ca
