Host Michael Litten, welcomes the highly acclaimed recording and performing artist Karla Harris and her collaborator Tyrone Jackson to Ride the Vibe where they share six tracks from their new album MERGE. Karla Harris is known for buttery vocals, dynamic delivery and nuanced storytelling in song.  A passionate educator in addition to performing, Harris was named a 2024 recipient of Atlanta Magazine’s “Women Making a Mark” award in recognition of her jazz outreach and education programs. In April 2025, she was one of 29 individuals from across North America named a “Jazz Hero” by the Jazz Journalists Association. In 2017, Harris joined the Jazz Studies department of Kennesaw State University as an artist-in residence and initiated the Vocal Jazz studio there. They discuss the ideas, personnel and real-life processes that led to the making of this stunning and unique record.
