His award-winning film, The American Chain Gang, examines the use of forced labor programs to punish criminals. Recently, a new extended version of his film sparked a lot of conversations about the subject. Since 2020 is bringing people’s attention to social issues, we'll explore if there’s also a chance to open a conversation about chain gangs.
