
Born in North-East London, Kianja's musical foundation is rooted in Soul, Reggae, and Jazz. Her passion for songwriting ignited at age 12, leading her to spend formative years in Durban, South Africa, where she immersed herself in Jazz.Upon returning to London, she honed her craft at esteemed institutions like the Brit School, Tomorrow's Warriors, and Guildhall School of Music, all while producing original material from her bedroom.
Kianja's debut EP Glory garnered critical acclaim, receiving support from BBC Radio 1, Rinse FM, and BBC 1Xtra. She has collaborated with artists such as Bastille and Craig David on a rendition of En Vogue’s "Don’t Let Go." Her independent releases since 2023 have been featured on Spotify's New Music Friday and other prominent playlists, as well as in-store playlists for M&S and The Body Shop.
