Presenter: Professor Shakeel Qureshi, Consultant paediatric cardiologist at The Evelina Hospital Professor Qureshi reviews how to differentiate between cardiac and respiratory causes for the cyanosed newborn. A cardiac cause is most likely if the baby is term with minimal respiratory distress. A respiratory cause is more common in the preterm baby with signs of respiratory distress with associated CXR changes.
